Let’s have a look at the different characters of the GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra:

Conrad Hauser / Duke (Channing Tatum)

Duke was remarkably played by Channing Tatum in the movie and followed the character who was one of the lead soldiers of the convoy designated to escort 4 nanomite warheads to NATO that are capable of destroying entire cities. They get ambushed by Cobra/M.A.R.S. troops and unless the G.I Joes arrive to their aid. He later finds out that his former girlfriend Anna is now part of the Cobra troops and wanted to steal the warheads and bring them to Cobra Commander at a Cobra base somewhere in the Arctic Circle.

General Clayton Abernathy / Hawk (Dennis Quaid)

Dennis Quaid as General Hawk was one of the best choices for the character. He was first seen in the opening battle where the Joes fight against the Cobra forces and rescued Duke and Ripcord and got their hands on the warheads. He was seen as a hologram when Breaker planted a device in the ground and General Hawk and the Joes were revealed to Duke and Ripcord. He is an avid leader and a decorated General and also stands for his team when they were arrested in France.

Wallace Weems / Ripcord (Marlon Wayans)

Wallace was an amazing pilot with a bit of a love interest in Scarlett who showed some real courage in the final battle between G.I Joes and Cobra troops. He takes one of the nanomite missiles that hit his Night Raven and he manages to get it destroyed. He ejects the plane and lands at the White House lawn. Wallace has a great sense of humor and is always there to motivate his friends and fellow soldiers. He also is a great marksman in the G.I Joe forces.

Snake Eyes (Ray Park)

Ray Park played the mysterious ninja commando who took a vow of silence as a result of the murder of the Hard Master that was played by Gerald Okamura back in the days when Snake Eyes was a kid. He swore to avenge the murderer of the Hard Master and kill Storm Shadow because he sees Storm Shadow fleeing the place where the Hard Master was murdered. He wears a black suit that provides him with the required mobility during a fight. Snake Eyes is an excellent marksman and master swordsman. He defeated Storm Shadow and almost every enemy he comes against and stands by General Hawk in a black cloak during his journey in the Arctic Circle.

Hershel Dalton / Heavy Duty (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje)

He is one of the field commanders and ordnance experts who can be seen in the first battle between the Joes and Cobra Vipers who wanted to get her hands on the nanomite warheads. He was driving the truck for the Joes in Paris. He was also commanding the S.H.A.R.C. troops when the Joes attacked the Cobra base in the Arctic Circle.

Abel Shaz / Breaker (Saïd Taghmaoui)

Breaker plays one of the major roles in the G.I. Joe’s movie and is the brains behind the team. He worked as the hacker and communication expert for the Joes. He calculated and made the exact location where Cobra Commander was operating from and also figured out the assault of Cobra operatives in Paris. He loved to chew bubblegum just like in the comics.

Shana M. O’Hara / Scarlett (Rachel Nichols)

Shana M. O’Hara or Scarlett was one of the most intelligent members of the Joes and develops a romantic interest for Ripcord. She was first seen carrying a High Tech Plasma Pulse Crossbow. She is physically really strong as she is trained by Snake Eyes. She is known to be well-versed in different languages and guided Ripcord and asked her to use Scottish dialect to operate Black Ravens.

In the end, one can say that G.I Joe: Rise of the Cobra was one of the most amazing movies with some of the best cast and characters. The movie came with another sequel named the G. I. Joe: Retaliation and Snake Eyes.
